Head of Adult Services

Welcome

Neath Port Talbot is home to more than 142,000 residents; an area rich in heritage, culture, industry and technology. We are a place where people are proud to live, learn, work and raise their families — and where the council has a vital role in helping people to live well, safely and independently in the communities they call home.

As a council, we are ambitious for both our place and our people. Major regeneration and investment opportunities — including the Celtic Freeport, regeneration projects in Port Talbot, at Waterfall Country and Gnoll Country Park — are helping to shape a county borough that is better connected, better for business and a better place to live.

At the same time, we are focused on strengthening the services that matter most to residents day to day. Adult Services is central to that ambition.

This is a significant leadership opportunity. We are investing in Social Services, Housing and Community Safety, increasing capacity to respond to complex needs, support a stable social care workforce and work across housing, health and community partners to improve outcomes. We’re also continuing to modernise services so that people receive the right help at the right time.

Our new Head of Adult Services will provide the vision, professional leadership and confidence to take this work forward. Working with elected members, senior officers, staff, health colleagues, providers, carers, communities and regional partners, you will help us build sustainable, person-centred services that protect the most vulnerable, promote independence and enable more people in Neath Port Talbot to live the lives they want.

If you are an experienced, values-led social care leader who can combine strong operational grip with strategic ambition, partnership working and a commitment to continuous improvement, we would welcome your interest in joining Team NPT.
